On Dec. 7, 1922, Oregon Agricultural College was granted a license to begin broadcasting radio station KFDJ, which had been put together as a lab experiment by OAC Physics Professor Jacob Jordan. The station's first broadcast was on Jan. 23, 1923 from the third floor of Apperson Hall.
